Round 17 | NBFC v Mt Lilydale

Both North Brunswick sides solidified their finals positions today with solid wins at home over Mount Lilydale.

A windy day meant for an inaccurate and at times messy display in the reserves. It wasn’t a four quarter effort but the job did get done in the end. NBFC edged out to a 3 goal lead by three quarter time and then held the margin to finish on top. Good signs for the finals campaign ahead with Peter Webb putting on a defensive master class at Full Back and “Freight” Hampshire a massive target up forward.

The seniors were a much more solid display with Jim Davis running well of the backline, again putting his hand up for best afield. Ben Gallagher also had a big day out, kicking six and taking numerous big grabs. Gus Seladinaikos ran all day and finished with two snapped goals in the last quarter. Jason Harkins and Davor Lucevic were again solid in defence and helped keep Mt Lilydale to just four goals for the day.

The last game for the regular season against old rivals Manningham season is up next. A chance for NBFC to step it up and bring the intensity that will be required for the finals campaign.
